Meet the Fundraising Lab Team

Cathy Mann | MA, CFRE

Founder & CEO

Strategic, action-oriented and award-winning. Cathy has a wealth of experience in the charitable sector spanning more than three decades. And what’s great about Cathy – she’s hands on. It’s in her DNA to help people and she’s never happier than working with clients to help them achieve measurable and sustainable results. 

Here are some of her awards:

  • 2018 Outstanding Fundraising Professional by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Toronto Chapter
  • Excellence in Scholarship by Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota
  • Excellence in Fundraising in Small Shops Award from the International Association of Fundraising Professionals representing 30,000+ fundraisers from 7 countries

As a seasoned fundraising professional and former teacher and Academic Coordinator of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Fundraising Management Certificate program, Cathy has not only influenced the profession, she has influenced the professionals in Toronto and across Canada. With her collective experience, Cathy offers a breadth and depth of solutions to her clients rarely seen in the fundraising community. Perhaps most importantly, she likes to have fun at work. Anne LeMesurier | MA

Managing Director - ( on parenting leave. )

As an expert in database management, fundraising technology and digital giving, Anne is the brains behind the operational infrastructure and systems side of the business. She helps clients achieve optimum information flow, streamlined and simplified processes, and strong digital strategies that spike awareness and measurably increase donor giving at every level. Prior to working with Cathy, Anne supported a successful $1.2 million endowment campaign, provided bequest programming, managed fundraising database and digital giving infrastructure, provided support balancing database reconciliation with finance, board support and programming. Pronouns: she/her

Erin Boyce, MLIS

Data and Digital Director

Erin has a passion for database management and data informed fundraising.  

With prior experience in non-profit finance, auditing, donor data management, and reporting for stewardship and Board support, Erin gets a kick out of helping clients leverage their data to improve fundraising outcomes. Before joining the non-profit sector, Erin worked for over a decade as a medical librarian, and she loves to use her research and organizational skills to strengthen non-profit missions. Pronouns: she/her

Lauren Hopkins

Operations Administrator and Client Services Associate
Lauren is a dynamic new addition to the Fundraising Lab team. Since joining the team in June, Lauren has applied her strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail to database management and operational support projects. Lauren brings a fresh perspective and strong academic background, with an honours degree (Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration) from Acadia University. During her academic career, Lauren excelled in various projects, coursework, and work placements, showcasing a solid understanding of business strategy, operations, and analytical skills. Lisa Villeneuve

Strategist

Lisa Villeneuve  is a strategy designer, coach and facilitator based in Wolfville NS. She brings 25 years of experience working across sectors on strategic planning, partnerships and policy. She is inspired by the power of trust to liberate creativity, unleash innovation and transform organizations. For 15 years, Lisa held senior positions in the Ontario provincial government and United Way of Greater Toronto. Since 2012, she has provided consulting services, coaching and teaching to nonprofit and charitable organizations and leaders across Canada. She holds degrees in Psychology and Social Work, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation. She has held faculty roles at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Schulich Executive Education Centre and the Canadian Organizational Development Institute. She is a certified leadership coach with the International Coach Federation and the World Association of Business Coaches. Lisa has served on boards and is an active community volunteer with NS Health and LAILO Farm Animal Sanctuary. Pronouns: she/her/elle.

Daniella Sorrentino

Grant-Writer, Researcher

With over 15 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector, Daniella has a proven track record of securing funding and designing impactful programs for cultural and social service organizations. Daniella has a keen ability to translate organizational vision into actionable strategies that resonate with funders and drive sustainable development. In her role as a grant writer, Daniella has successfully secured funding from a diverse range of sources, including all levels of government, foundations, and corporate donors. Daniella is dedicated to staying abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and funding opportunities to maximize the impact of her work. Pronouns: she/her

Ilana Landsberg-Lewis

Senior Associate

Ilana Landsberg-Lewis has devoted her career to advancing the rights of women and girls. As a human rights lawyer and during her tenure at UNIFEM (now UN Women), she worked closely with women’s groups, valuing the expertise of those on the frontlines. She co-founded the Stephen Lewis Foundation, serving as its first Executive Director (2003–2020), and oversaw its growth from a grassroots effort to an organization with $10 million in annual revenue, disbursing $140 million to over 300 community-led groups in 15 African countries tackling the AIDS pandemic.

Now the host of Wisdom at Work: Older Women, Elderwomen and Grandmothers on the Move!, Ilana also founded WizWork, a platform for 60+ women activists. She continues to promote gender equality, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and feminist leadership globally.

Her honors include the 2024 Lions Club International Humanitarian Award, the YWCA Women of Distinction Award for International Development, and recognition as one of Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence. She serves on advisory councils and boards, including the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the Astraea Foundation. Pronouns: she/her/ella/elle.

Nova

Director of Security

Nova the Dog is a connoisseur of tail-wagging and treat negotiation, renowned for his expertise in sniffing adventures and sunny naps. A graduate of the esteemed Academy of Squirreling Around, Nova’s achievements include perfecting the “puppy eyes” treat technique and delivering a flawless bark-at-the-mailman routine.

Nova champions belly rub equality, exploring scents and squeaky toys with fellow pups. When not working, he can be found herding humans to the kitchen or battling his nemesis, the vacuum cleaner. He proudly identifies as a Good Dog. Pronouns: woof/woof/arf.

Willow

Director of Cuteness

Willow brings her mischievous charm and unbridled joy to the team as our esteemed Director of Cuteness. A natural at boosting morale, she excels in tail-wagging welcomes, motivational cuddles, and ensuring smiles all around. When not supervising data-management with her firm paw, Willow enjoys long walks, chasing her favourite toys, and sampling the finest treats. She reminds us daily that a little cuteness goes a long way in making the work more delightful.
